The Polish Hill Civic Association serves to enrich the neighborhood of Polish Hill through beautification, engagement and advocacy, and planning and development.

The PHCA manages three community gardens, and coordinates volunteers to clean and maintain more than eight City-owned parklets, City steps and other green spaces. In recognition for our volunteer efforts to clean and green the neighborhood, the PHCA won the 2012 Bob Award for Neighborhood of the Year from the Clean Pittsburgh Commission.

Engagement and Advocacy

The PHCA leads a group of dedicated residents working with City officials to decrease cut-through traffic and speeding in the neighborhood. We aim to make it a safer place for pedestrians and cyclists. We also work with business owners to ensure that responsible hospitality measures are in place. The PHCA is very proud of our annual Polish Hill Arts Festival that brings together residents and visitors from other neighborhoods to celebrate art, food and music in an intimate and creative format.

Planning and Development

The PHCA promotes economic development, works with developers to incorporate and respect neighborhood input, and seeks to improve the safety and quality of our housing.
