Recently, Staffski heard about an new group that is making Polish Hill their winter home. Obscure Games will be meeting at the West Penn Recreation Center every Sunday, beginning on February 7. Games begin at 10:30AM and end at 1:30PM. From their website —

Play is good. It revitalizes your body and re-energizes your mind. And it’s not just for children any more. Obscure Games Pittsburgh is a confederation of miscreants and rubes dedicated to creating and playing brand new kinds of games. We play our games, we play other people’s games, we play games pulled from antiquity, we change rules as we see fit, and usually forget to keep score.

The group is planning games like Scatterball, Tchoukball and Human Battle Chess. There is no RSVP. The games are open to adults, 18 years and older. Since the organizers are renting the facility privately, they are asking for a donation to participate in the games. Please check their website for details and updates.
