Home heating equipment rebate program opens April 21

A new state rebate program could save you money when purchasing ENERGY STAR-rated, non-electric residential water heaters, furnaces and boilers. The program will open April 21.

Rebates in the Pennsylvania Home Heating Equipment Rebate Program will range from $100 to $500, depending on the equipment’s efficiency rating. The $11 million program is being funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

If you are considering using this program, you should be ready to act when it opens. The best way to guarantee a rebate is to obtain a reservation when you are in the process of planning a purchase. Complete information about the program, as well as a listing of eligibility requirements, is available by clicking here .

This new program complements additional rebates that Duquesne Light and other electric utilities in the state are offering as a result of Act 129 of 2008, which I supported.
