Nothing but blue skies

Ron Donoughe , a Pittsburgh artist, practices Plein Air painting. Simply, Mr. Donoughe paints and draws his inspiration from the outdoors. It doesn’t matter what the weather, cold or hot, he can be found on many of Pittsburgh’s sidewalks with his easel and paints.

Not too long ago, Mr. Donoughe embarked on an ambitious depiction of the Immaculate Heart of Mary church, here in Polish Hill. Although the church has been the subject for other artists, this is an unusual view of the church.

According to Mr. Donoughe, the work is not completed yet. He will be documenting his progress on Daily Painters of Pennsylvania. Other examples of Ron Donoughe’s work can be found on his site.
