Free Cone Day

On Tuesday, April 21, the Squirrel Hill Ben & Jerry’s PartnerShop gave away 3,995 scoops of ice cream…that’s more than 700 pounds! That’s because it was FREE CONE DAY across the globe — the ultimate customer appreciation event for Ben & Jerry’s loyal fans.

Our thanks WTAE-TV’s News Crew Amber Nicotra, Scott Stiller and Andrew Stockey for serving as our Celebrity Scoopers. Also on hand to help were the Pirate Parrot and Steely McBeam. Incredible balloon art was donated by Judy Carodi, The Balloon Artiste Extraordinaire.

I certainly wish I had been able to go! And not just for the free ice cream! Check out the great pictures!

On April 21 from Noon to 8 p.m., the WTAE-TV News Crew will help to scoop it out for free again at the Ben & Jerry’s Squirrel Hill scoop shop at 5885 Forbes Avenue. Meet Erin Kienzle, Andrew Stockey, Kelly Frey, Scott Stiller, Demetrius Ivory, Ari Hait, Amber Nicotra, and Mike Clark as they serve up Ben & Jerry’s newest values-led flavor: Chocolate Macadamia (featuring Fair Trade vanilla, Fair Trade chocolate and sustainably-harvested macadamia nuts), along with other legend-dairy palette pleasers like Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia. Life’sWork Hosts 2nd Annual Job Fair

Life’sWork of Western PA will host a job fair on Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Uptown office at 1323 Forbes Avenue. Last year, more than 100 job seekers attended the inaugural event.

Congratulations to our Ben & Jerry’s team for taking shop sales to the top 25 out of all stores across the country — about 350!

Our Ben & Jerry’s Regional Business Consultant Ed Peistrup said the stats are for sales increase, including both in-store and off-premise sales, for the period Jan-Feb 2007 vs. Jan-Feb 2008. Our Squirrel Hill PartnerShop’s increase was a whopping 55%.

Let’s keep the momentum going! Please stop by the scoop shop to give our star scoopers an extra “pat on the back” for a job well done.
