The 19th Annual Allegheny County Celebration of Lights at Hartwood Park will open at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19. This is a Pittsburgh favorite, with visitors touring the beautiful grounds at Hartwood Acres to see the elaborate displays. And it’s for some very good causes. Admissions are donated to local charities that assist the county’s neediest families.
“The Allegheny County Celebration of Lights started back in 1991 with just 28 displays and 250,000 lights,” said Onorato. “This year, visitors will be awed by more than two million lights along the three-mile drive.”
In formation about ticket prices, special events taking place over the holiday season, and directions to Hartwood Acres can be found on the Allegheny County site.
The Allegheny County Celebration of Lights, presented by WTAE-TV, will be open for viewing from Friday, November 19, through Sunday, January 9, 2011, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Hours are 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
