54D among buses to be detoured during the Great Race on Sunday

During the 34th Annual Richard S. Caliguri Great Race on Sunday, more than 30 Port Authority bus routes will be detoured and see temporary stop changes, mostly within Downtown, Uptown, Oakland and Squirrel Hill.

Detours will begin at approximately 4:45 a.m. Regular service is expected to resume by about 12 p.m.  Additionally, two temporary special bus routes will operate during the race, the 5K and 10K, to provide service between Downtown and Oakland, and Downtown and Squirrel Hill, respectively.

54 to South Side

Buses will not operate along North or South Craig streets, Forbes Avenue, North Bellefield Avenue or Fifth Avenue near the hospitals and universities. All bus stops from Centre Avenue at North Craig Street to Fifth Avenue at Robinson Street will be temporarily discontinued.

54 to North Side

Buses will not operate along Fifth Avenue, Bigelow Boulevard, Forbes Avenue or South and North Craig streets. All bus stops from the Birmingham Bridge to North Craig Street at Centre Avenue will be temporarily discontinued.
