Gather the family and head out for an unforgettable day of free family activities when Mayor Luke Ravenstahl’s FAMILY FUN FEST celebrates summer at four locations in early August.
“This summer many families are staying close to home and enjoying all our region has to offer,” said Mayor Luke Ravenstahl. “Those of us who live in Pittsburgh are fortunate to have many urban parks and green spaces with plenty of free activities to keep families busy all summer long.”
FAMILY FUN FEST will include a wide variety of free child-friendly activities including the Citiparks Roving Art Cart, face painting, moon walking — and a hands-on experience interacting with City of Pittsburgh fire, police and paramedic vehicles.
Then “Backpack Bash” will challenge children to play games for a chance to win back-to-school backpacks and supplies.
On the first three occasions, FAMILY FUN FEST will precede an opportunity to enjoy a free movie under the stars as part of Dollar Bank Cinema in the Park series, and on the final occasion, FAMILY FUN FEST will expand a Citiparks Roving Art Cart engagement.
