Joy Toujours and the Toys du Jour should be familiar to a lot of Polish Hill residents.  They played at a number of neighborhood events last year, including the arts festival (above) and the PHCA’s 40th birthday party.  Joy is also the guy behind Project 53, the musician’s resource center on Melwood, and the organizer of Free 4 All, a two-day music festival which will take place the same weekend as the church festival and the arts festival (July 17 and 18th).

In the meantime, Joy and the Toys are releasing their first cd with a fabulous and kid-friendly event at the New Hazlett Theater on Sunday, June 13 from 7-10:30 pm.  The evening starts with dj hatesyou on 4 turntable eclectic mixology, cake, and balloon animals in the lobby.  From 7:30 -8:15 is brass band Good Game[x5], who raised a happy sound for the May Day parade through the neighborhood.  Joy Toujours and the Toys du Jour will come on at 8:30 with an assortment of talented friends juggling and dancing, and then Steamboat Whiskey Thief will perform a half hour set in the lobby.  Admission is just $8 and you get the new cd with entry.  A fabulous variety show, and a cd–what a deal!  See you there!
