Light Up Night in Polish Hill
The Polish Hill Civic Association will be holding its 13th Annual Light Up Night on Friday, December 5 beginning at 6:30PM. This event is a long-standing neighborhood tradition where neighbors get together to celebrate the holidays.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church has a choir group that practice together every week. The choir will be performing from the steps of the Polish Hill Civic Association during the event. The tree, situated in Polish Hill’s Veteran’s Monument, will be lit at 7PM, just in time for Santa’s visit!
Special guests will be on hand for the celebration. Santa will be handing out small gifts for the children. While the children are giving their lists to Santa, parents are welcome to light refreshments, served in the PHCA office. Join us for this, our Thirteenth Annual Light Up Night Celebration.

Light Up Night at Sarney’s
While you’re in the neighborhood, stop in at Sarney’s on Brereton and Dobson Street. Every Christmas, they festoon the bar with lights and glittery garland. It changes a bit every year. More lights are added or additional garland and other bits of decoration go up. And every year, the bar has a Christmas benefit for Childrens Hospital. Sometimes the patrons just pitch cash into a big jar, sometimes they have a “guess how many lights are up” contest.
This year, they will be having the official Light Up Night on Friday, December 5.
