Light up the street in Polish Hill, Friday 7th from 6-8 pm

Friday December 7 is Polish Hill’s Light Up the Street, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Right at 6, the monument tree will be lit for the season.  There will be a special performance by two opera singers doing holiday songs.  And our caroling organizer Lee is going for full participation, so come prepared to bellow “Silent Night”.  There will be refreshments at the PHCA.  We’ll have a holiday photo booth, and a small present for the first 20 kids.

An additional neighborhood attraction that evening will be Sarney’s Bar, which will have their display of many, many lights.  The light display is a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital — buy a ticket for $1 and guess the number of lights.  There will also be singer/guitarist performing between approximately 7 and 8 p.m. to help promote and get people in to participate in the fundraiser.  If you’ve never been to Sarney’s, this would be a good evening to check it out.

Want to help out?  We need volunteers to make homemade cookies (or other snacks).  We still need some holiday-themed dress-up items for the photo booth — things like Christmas sweaters, elf or Santa hats, or reindeer horns.  If you’d like to help out, call us at 412.681.1950 or email.  And we hope to see you there!
