The last days of Carnival are called “Ostatki” in Poland. This is a time of celebration, the last chance to dance, eat meat, pastries and other rich foods and alcohol before the beginning of Lent. This year Ostatki will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, and the Polish Cultural Council is having an annual Ostatki, a Winter White Party, with a vodka tasting and Polish menu, live music from the Continental Dukes, and a vodka raffle.
