Other festivals this weekend

Obviously we hope you’ll come to the Polish Hill Arts Festival on Sunday.  But there’s a lot of other stuff going this weekend, and if you’re in the mood for multiple festivals this weekend, there are a couple of others, close by.

For starters, there’s Polish Hill’s Immaculate Heart of Mary Church parish festival on Saturday from 1 pm to 11 pm.  This festival has been going for decades and attracts many parishioners who no longer live in the neighborhood.  There are sponsored booths with games of chance, raffles, hot Polish food and a bake sale in the church basement.  The annual Polka Mass is at 4:00 p.m., followed by dancing after mass with Ray Jay and the Carousels in the big tent outside.  For more information call the church office at 412. 621.5170.

And just across the river, Troy Hill is also celebrating a festival weekend, starting on Friday with a Freedom Beer Fundraiser from 7:00 -10:00 p.m. in Citizens Park.  Entrance and complementary drink tickets is $20.  On Saturday, there’s the Flea for All and Kids Summerfest from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., also in Citizens Park.  There’ll be activities for children and adults, food, and a flea market.  Sunday is the Pig Hill Trok 5K run/walk.  Registration is $20 and starts at 9:00 a.m.; the event starts promptly at 9:30.
