We’re just getting started with the programming for this year’s Polish Hill Arts Festival, which will be held on Sunday, July 17th, from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m.. We already know that returning favorite Timbeleeza will be performing again. And we’re hoping very much that the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church will be doing the traditional Polish food!
The vendor application is now online. Applicants will be informed by June 5 if their application is accepted, and the fee of $25 would be due at that time. We’re also looking for other participants:
Performers
There is live music throughout the festival day. We are looking for a variety of music — the only limitation is that it can’t be very loud. We love rock bands, but loud amplified music just doesn’t work well in this setting, as there is so much going on in a small area.
Activities
We’re also looking for artists or craftspeople to present hands-on activities. Past activities have included plaster casting, origami, button-making, and more. Activities would run from noon until at least 7 pm.
Interactive Art
This is pretty wide-open, and might include a large piece that can be easily set up for just a day, it might be an installation or something people can walk through, hang out in, or play with. It should be something that will work in a busy public setting and is safe and appropriate for all ages. We don’t have the budget to commission work, but if an artist has a project that was shown elsewhere, or just an idea they’d like to test, we’d love to hear from you.
