Two community holiday events on December 4th and 7th

Next week will bring the two community holiday events, and all residents are invited.

First is the December Community Meeting and Holiday Potluck, , on Tuesday the 4th from 6:15 – 8:30 in the lower level of the West Penn Recreation Center at 450 30th Street.  This is our annual meeting — but the meeting part won’t take too long — some updates, and introducing the new PHCA board members.  Then, on to the food and socializing.  There is always a lot of really great food at this event, and we hope you will join us.  If you would like to bring something, call us at 412.681.1950 or email us so we can note what you’re bringing.

Three days later comes Light Up the Street, on Friday, December 7 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  The monument tree will be lit, then there will be caroling and refreshments at the PHCA. We’ll have a holiday photo booth, and a small present for the first 20 kids.  An additional neighborhood attraction that evening will be Sarney’s, which will have their display of many, many lights.  The display is also a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital — buy a ticket for $1 and guess the number of lights.

If you’re interested in helping out with the Light Up event, we are looking for people to bake cookies or donate snacks.  More carolers are needed, and musicians to play with them.  If you’d like to help out, call us at 412.681.1950 or email.
