Veterans Day Parade on Friday November 11, and bus detours

The Federation of War Veterans’ Societies’ 92nd annual Veterans Day parade in Downtown Pittsburgh will detour bus service on Friday, Nov. 11, but Port Authority service will follow weekday schedules.

Nearly 50 Port Authority bus routes will be detoured by the parade in Downtown and the Strip District. The first detours will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m., and many regular bus stops will be discontinued and temporary stops established in their place. Regular routing and stops are expected to resume by approximately 2 p.m.  Riders should allow for extra time when traveling during the parade.

For a list of the stops the 54D will serve in the Strip, check the Port Authority info sheet on the detours.

For details, visit the Port Authority website or call Customer Service at 412-442-2000 or the TTY number, 412-231-7007. The Customer Service phone line will operate on its regular weekday schedule on Veterans Day, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Downtown Service Center on Smithfield Street will be closed Friday in observance of Veterans Day.
