Grow Pittsburgh has just announced their first community garden exchange event of the year: a seed swap, potluck, garden book swap and seed saving workshop. The event, which is free, will be from 6:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday, March 21 at the Pittsburgh Public Market. The workshop starts promptly at 6:30 p.m., and the swapping will go on all night long. Attendees are invited to bring a dish to add to the potluck table (don’t forget a serving spoon!); leftover or saved seed (please label – see flier for details); or unwanted (intact) garden books for swapping.
The Pittsburgh Public Market is located in the Strip District Produce Terminal Building, on Smallman Street. The entrance is opposite 17th Street. Childcare is available upon request; to sign up, contact Marisa Manheim by March 17. If you have any upcoming food gardening-related events that you would like us to publicize at the event, submit them by March 17. And if you like to volunteer the day of to help set up and/or clean up, send an email to sign up.
