Go Green, Go!

Could this be the trifecta for the City of Champions? The Black and Gold City Goes Green is  a first in its kind – an action group that encourages residents, organizations and public institutions to grass-roots efforts in changing the environment. From the website

The Black And Gold City Goes Green campaign is the action plan of the Pittsburgh Climate Initiative, working across four sectors: municipal operations, higher education, business, and the individuals that make up the Pittsburgh community.

The Initiative seeks to raise awareness and engage Pittsburgh’s residents, businesses, government and institutions of higher learning in taking concrete actions that will reduce global warming pollution and its impact on our local economy and human health.

The campaign seeks to address environmental concerns through a series of accessible, easy to perform actions. There is a calendar that you can use to track suggested actions, downloadable as a pdf.  The site has suggestions for other initiatives. Interested? Check out the site.
