Update from the Public Allies in Polish Hill

Public Allies Pittsburgh in Polish Hill are selling Redd Up The Green posters to benefit the greening initiatives in the community.  Stop by Lili’s coffee shop on Wednesday nights between 7 and 9 to pick up your very own, original poster for a suggested $5 donation.

The Public Allies have also put a call out to all learners and teachers.  They’re organizing a community skill share day on May 21st from 11 am – 4 pm.   Workshops will be held throughout the community at no cost to the learner or the teacher.   They say:  “We are currently looking for more spaces in which businesses or residents would like to hold an event.  In addition, we are looking for more teachers who would like to lead a workshop – it can be on anything from gardening to archery to baking.  Please contact Public Allies at 412-256-8583, or by e-mail. Not interested in hosting or teaching? That’s fine too, but make sure to mark your calendar for May 21st, more details to follow!”

You may have seen some of the Public Allies (Connor Sites Bowen, Justin Lamorella, Maggie Negrette, Andrea Zimmer, Darelle Dogans, and Rigel Meza Richardson) down on Melwood Ave. last Friday, getting very soggy and muddy as they helped clean up on the Knotweed Knockout site.
