Pennsylvania’s Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Initiative – The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) has established the Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Initiative to help interested homeowners to save their homes. Twenty-Eight counseling agencies in the PHFA Comprehensive Housing Counseling network are participating in this program.

Homeowner’s Emergency Mortgage Assistance – financial assistance to individuals and families who, through no fault of their own, have fallen behind in their rent or mortgage payments.

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency offers additional assistance through its Homeowners Equity Recovery Opportunity (HERO) as well as other programs. Another source for support is NeighborWorks, a national organization whose website offers information on sources for assistance.
