A Chicago program has inspired Pittsburgh’s Mayor Ravenstahl to propose a new housing initiative —

He’s not looking for a return to the days when the mills built row houses for the workers. But by introducing employers, foundations and developers to employer-assisted housing yesterday, he put a new spin on the concept. Read the Post Gazette article

The plan has met with a lot of success in Chicago and would translate well to Pittsburgh. Mayor Ravenstahl has been working hard to entice regional residents to move back into the city core. This program would go a long way to achieving that goal.
