Yesterday, Polish Hillarian Stephanie Tecza stopped in the office with a special treat: homemade Kruschiki. This is a delectable, traditional Polish cookie that is a favorite in many families. Stephanie mentioned that she has been making her Kruschiki/Angel Wings for the past 28 years, using a recipe that was handed down from her mother. This year, she entered her recipe into the WPXI Best Christmas Cookie in Pittsburgh Contest. From the WPXI site —
WPXI.com is searching for Pittsburgh’s Best Christmas Cookie and when we asked for submissions we received lots of great recipes!
A panel of judges sorted through the recipes to choose the finalists. They were required to bring 2 dozen of their cookies to the WPXI studios for a taste-test.
WPXI has posted the recipes on the contest page, including Stephanie’s recipe for Kruschiki. Staffski has tasted her cookies and can attest to their quality and deliciousness. She has, of course, already voted for Stephanie’s recipe in the contest.
You, too, can vote for Stephanie’s recipe on the WPXI site. It would be a well-deserved honor for the recipe that Stephanie submitted to win. The directions for casting your vote and viewing the recipe is on the WPXI site. Voting closes at noon on December 20, so don’t delay! Good luck, Stephanie, we’re cheering for you!
