Our four new businesses continue to get some really nice press. Karen Lillis wrote a lovely article for Digging Pitt blog, complete with great photos (one of which we have borrowed, above).
And last week’s blog post in the Post-Gazette was a teaser for a more extensive article that appeared yesterday.
Hopefully, this will inspire others to consider opening a business here. That is, if they aren’t scared off by the quotes from the owners of 3138 Dobson, the site of the coffee shop, about just how difficult, frustrating, and expensive it was to renovate.
This, it seems, is the main stumbling block to starting a business (or buying a house) in Polish Hill–our buildings, for the most part, are in not in great condition. But if anyone’s thinking about it…we’ve got enough bars–but Polish Hill could really, really, use a laudromat!
Is there any news about what they are going to do with the 34th St. bridge in July ??
Chester, they will be working on the 31st St. Bridge (there isn’t a 34th St Bridge) starting July 6th.
There was a short article in the Post-Gazette about this on June 21.
For some reason my link function doesn’t work here, but here’s the URL:
