You've got a friend in Pittsburgh

This was such a delightful story, we thought we’d share it. About a week ago, friendinpittsburgh set off for a weekend of good-doing in the Windy City. This good guy wanted to make a difference, in a concrete and direct way, anonymously and with strangers. He is subscribing to the Pay It Forward notion —

The term “pay it forward” refers to the idea where one person does a good deed for another in the hope that it will be repaid in the form of another good deed for someone else. The good deeds then become an ever-expanding pyramid of charity. The notion was popularized in a 2000 film by that title. Read the Post Gazette article

Indeed, there was a movie, released in 2000, starring Helen Hunt, Kevin Spacey and Haley Joel Osment. This movie was loosely based on the book of the same title, written by Catherine Ryan Hyde. friendinpittsburgh, preserving his anonymity, has made an admirable effort to realize this lovely philosophy.
