We hope that Polish Hill residents and friends will come out this evening for Light Up the Street and Around the Block, our neighborhood’s event to welcome the holiday season.  We’ll light up the tree at the monument at Brereton and Dobson streets, decorated by the new monument committee.  Shops and businesses in Polish Hill’s center will be open and it’s a perfect evening to do some local shopping.  Urban Gypsy will have refreshments and lots of lovely gift items for the holidays, Copacetic Comics (and bookstore) will have a free comic book.  Other businesses open include Mindcure Records, Lili Coffee* Shop, Sarney’s bar, and Gooski’s.

And at the PHCA office (3060 Brereton), we’ll have refreshments and you can get a photo with Santa, who will be in residence from about 6:15 ’til 7:30.  The first 25 kids will also get a free advent calendar.

Light Up the Street is from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and we hope you will come out to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season, visit with neighbors, and support neighborhood businesses!
