Help bring the Google fiber project to Pittsburgh

Google has a new project where they are proposing to select a small number of communities from across the country to which they would provide new networking infrastructure. This new network would deliver Internet service at one gigabit per second, approximately 100 times the current fastest rate in Pittsburgh, directly to homes. Being selected by Google for this project would be a huge boon to Pittsburgh. Many Pittsburgh organizations are already involved: CMU, Pitt, UPMC, and the Pittsburgh Public Schools are just a few supporting organizations. But, community interest and support will be a key factor in Google’s decision to make this investment (for which there is widespread competition).
