Eighty-six years ago, there were more trains and more smog at the base of the hill

It seems like great photos are being added to the Historic Pittsburgh Image Archive almost weekly.  A search for “28th Street Bridge” yielded some wonderful photos that were just added to the archive.  Here are two that were taken eighty-six years ago, on April 7, 1926.

There have been a few 28th Street Bridges.  According to notations on some of the Historic Pittsburgh Archive images, the bridge in these photos was built in 1908.
