Two years ago, Hampton High School teacher Mary Louise Ellena-Wygonik and her students spent several months visiting Polish Hill, interviewing residents, and writing about the neighborhood.  Out of this research project came a book, Polish Hill Remembered, published in 2007.  That book has sold more than 2000 copies and is still in print (order here).

Now, Ellena-Wygonik and and a new group of students are working on another book about veterans connected to Hampton, tentatively titled War Diaries, which is slated to come out on Memorial Day.  Read the article about their new project in the Post-Gazette.
