Bill would give council more control over authorities

Some new legislation is being proposed on the County level, The Post Gazette reports —

Republican members of Allegheny County Council want more oversight of the county’s 11 authorities — including the Port Authority, Allegheny County Sanitary Authority and Sports and Exhibition Authority — under a proposed ordinance that will be debated tonight.

The proposal, sponsored by Councilman Chuck McCullough along with members Vince Gastgeb, Matt Drozd and Jan Rea, will be considered by council’s Government Reform Committee. Read the Post Gazette article
