Free electronics recycling event this Saturday in Shadyside

There will  be a free electronics recycling event at the Calvary Episcopal Church, 315 Shady Avenue in Shadyside this Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The event is free for all Pennsylvania residences and small businesses (50 or fewer employees).  The following items will be accepted at this event:

– Desktop, laptops, tablets, servers, hard drives
– Cell phones, Ipods, MP3 players, etc.
– Consumer electronics including VCR and DVD players, wire, x-mas lights, cable boxes, radios
– Computer peripherals including keyboards, mice, printers (less than 50 lbs), power supplies, motherboards and circuit boards, cables, DC, DVD, tape, and floppy drives, UPS batteries and backup systems, memory, hard drives (on-site destruction is available), computer fans, routers, switches, modems, and more
– PHones, phone systems, ink, toner, AC adapters, projecters, overhead displays, typewriters

One exception:  televisions will not be accepted at this event, but LCD and plasma tv’s are welcome.

On-site hard drive destruction will be available for $10 per drive.

Although recycling is free, they will be accepting small donations for certain items:  $10 for monitors, and $5 for computers, VCRs, DVD players, stereos, printers and fax machines, and other consumer electronics.
